Research Summary: My research examines health disparities among marginalized populations by integrating social determinants of health, life course adversity, and behavioral pathways. Much of my current work focuses on tobacco use, head and neck cancers, and their intersection with social and structural determinants using claims data, as well as HIV and tuberculosis. I explore how early and ongoing psychosocial stressors, including adverse childhood experiences, stigma, and structural disadvantages shape mental health, substance use, and HIV-related outcomes. Trained in mixed methods, epidemiology, and causal inference, I apply advanced analytic approaches to complex longitudinal and survey data. My goal is to contribute evidence-based interventions that reduce preventable disparities and improve health outcomes across vulnerable populations and communities.
