Research Summary
My research in Dr. Geyer’s lab involves determining how a deficiency in dietary fatty acids leads to impaired spermatogenesis and male infertility. We are collaborating with Dr. Jessica Ellis to use a novel mouse model that lacks an enzyme crucial for the incorporation of omega-3 fatty acids into cells. This model allows us to elucidate the role of dietary fatty acids in shaping the sperm head and tail.
