Intellectual Property
Sponsored projects often generate new knowledge in the form of inventions or publications. Disclosure and protection of this intellectual property is a key process. ECU’s Office of Innovation and New Ventures aids researchers in commercializing their work. The office is the cornerstone of a campus-wide ecosystem designed to spur social and economic growth by using new innovations and discoveries to create valuable products, processes and services for the benefit of our region and beyond.
The office provides assistance through:
- Helping inventors disclose their technology.
- Assisting with material transfer agreements.
- Walking researchers through confidentiality disclosures.
- Assisting with patent agreements and licensing.
- Providing on-campus innovation and entrepreneurship programs.
Contact the office if you have an idea or technology you’d like to potentially bring to market.
